An anthology series about high-profile crimes or murderers who gained public attention and fame. Evan Peters [Jeffrey Dahmer] says they had one rule from Ryan Murphy [creator] going into the series: that it would never be told from Dahmer’s point of view. "As an audience, you don’t really sympathize with him. You better look at it from the outside.".
In many episodes, 3M Command(TM) tape is shown in the kitchen of Jeffery Dahmer’s apartment, most recently in 1991. The first wave of 3M Command(TM) products debuted in 1996. When I clicked to watch Netflix’s Dahmer, I thought it was going to be very much a documentary about him. But what a surprise it was to see that it was actually a mini-series of crimes committed by Dahmer.
And what a miniseries it is! The script is top notch! The cinematography is one of the best serial killer crime series I’ve seen! I’m a big fan of the Mindhunter series about the origins of the FBI’s behavioral science division.
I’ve been hooked on this show since the first episode and it’s only been one drink since. I know there are many other movies like People Magazine; which depict crimes committed by famous murderers. But what Netflix has shown with Dahmer is a whole new level of showmanship! The People’s Magazine films are mere amateur viewing compared to the Dahmer series.
Netflix really surprised me with this great show! And I don’t give a 9-star rating easily!
