Our entire group was disappointed with what we saw. The plot was thin for us, focused on another part of her life, and major parts of the story about how events are connected were left out. We moved from one scene to the next with no clear connection between the sequences. The focus seemed to be on Jolie posing for us, quite a distance from the charm of the real Maria.
I get it – Angelina is beautiful, but where was the spark? I never felt connected to the characters nor did I buy the film. At the end of the film, when the sign-off begins, there are scenes of the real Maria Callas – full of personality and charisma – which unfortunately were not shown in the beautiful costumes, but that was it for me.. " A hundred years of solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
