The early 20th century saw the Duttons face new challenges, including the rise of western expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. While the Great Depression began in America in 1929, it began early in Montana. The Great Depression began in Montana in 1918, nearly 10 years before the rest of the nation. While the rest of America was booming, Montana was struggling. Between drought and the reduced demand for agricultural products caused by the end of the “Great War” (also known as World War I, 1914–1918), many farmers suffered greatly. By 1925, 70,000 of Montana’s 82,000 farmhands had left. In addition, 200 Montana banks failed. The drought has not only affected crops, but also infected locusts and infected livestock. Suddenly the two of them find themselves having to travel from Mogadishu, Somalia to Montana. It should be easy…The second arc is about a school where Catholic priests and nuns abuse Indian girls. That part was very unpleasant to watch. There was a bit of revenge that made it a bit watchable… I usually judge TV shows after season 1. Not this time. I didn’t like the last episode. Explains why the joke. But I’m going to watch season 2. I have…
