Katie, a freelance video editor desperate for work, receives a well-paid offer from an anonymous employer to edit a cryptic and bizarre video. Short on money and facing eviction, Katie gladly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera – surely a carefully staged fiction. But when the first job leads to even more lucrative contracts and even more disturbing snuff films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures in her apartment, terrible nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness strikes her cat. It’s only when Katie decides to quit her job for good that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer is and the bloody measures she herself will go to get out of her contract.
