I have to agree with many other critics, this is a great production, with a good vibe, and Eddie Redmayne does a great job as the Jackal, but the female lead just ruins it. It’s a total mistake to use an actor who can’t show any emotion on her face regardless of the situation, and who almost overacts the role, perhaps to make up for a lack of understanding or appreciation for the character. The character was obviously meant to be confident and experienced, but her portrayal is of a cocky ‘I know best’ woman who doesn’t appreciate the evidence walking through the office through the suitcase. It’s just so annoying and unbelievable.
