The two mentors must work together to instruct Li Fong, but it remains to be seen whether their teaching approaches will be compatible. On November 21, 2023, Sony released a video featuring Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan announcing that they were both returning for the new film as well as a worldwide casting search for the titular new “Karate Kid”.
